Full Moon in Virgo ~ February 25, 2013

I haven’t posted on this blog since prior to the Nov. 28 Lunar Eclipse last fall, an event that personally affected me and my chart, thanks to a conjunction and opposition to natal planets at 7° Gemini and Sagittarius. Now we have a Full Moon upon us, which occurs at 7° Virgo. It’s an appropriate time to begin posting again since this particular lunar phase marks the “second quarter” since the last eclipse.

Occurring roughly 90° from that Eclipse, the separating square is a suitable time to re-evaluate the events of last November and progress made thus far. Also, the T-square this Full Moon forms to Jupiter, now at 7° Gemini and less than a degree away from the Eclipse point, also triggers that same natal configuration.Full Moon in Virgo

We’ve spent the last week of February under the fog of Pisces. With the Sun, Mars, Mercury and Chiron all in that sign, along with – and even conjunct – Neptune, there’s been a lot of evasion, confusion and delusion with our actions, words and motives. Venus also enters Pisces at 9:03 p.m. EST the day of the Full Moon.

The Moon is at its most discerning and detail-oriented in Virgo, a far cry from the Pisces energy on the opposite side of the zodiac that’s more inclined to the psychological, spiritual and subconscious. We’re now being reminded of the benefits of intellect, rationale and realism in a push and pull between the cerebral and spiritual.

Virgo governs areas of health, cleanliness, routine, work, duty, service to others and pets. Have you been neglecting diet, hygiene, boundaries and daily schedules? This will be a day of reckoning for those who have fallen victim to the Pisces veil of secrecy and elusion. With Virgo’s ruler, Mercury, now in the midst of a retrograde in its sign of detriment, Pisces, this particular Full Moon may require attention to past matters related to the themes highlighted by this transit.

This opposition of the Pisces Sun and Virgo Moon becomes exact at 3:26 p.m. EST on Feb. 25. The Nov. 28 eclipse occurred conjunct Jupiter, with squares from Neptune and Chiron in Pisces. This Full Moon now squares Jupiter, and opposes Neptune and Pisces.

As with all Full Moons, this month’s will usher in a peak or ending, as one or more situations come to a head for us at this time, forcing change where it is needed in each of our lives. You may find yourself reaching a goal, celebrating an achievement, receiving recognition or severing ties with a relationship, behavior pattern or life circumstance. Also likely is some sort of revelation related to matters that may have been hidden from you in recent months, although it may take time for secrets to rise to the surface.

People born within two days of February 25 or August 31, or those with natal planets near 7 degrees of mutable signs will feel the effects of this Full Moon more strongly. Read on for a house-by-house interpretation. You can cast your individual birth chart if you’re unsure of where 7° Virgo falls in your horoscope.

Virgo: Full Moon in the 1st House
The past two weeks will have emphasized your relationships with others, which may have left you neglecting your own needs for the sake of another. This period will highlight the self, and you may be feeling the urge to turn the attention inward if your best interests have fallen by the wayside in recent weeks. At this time, you’ll need to reintegrate yourself back into the you-me equation and assert your interests without tipping the scale too far in your favor. Balance is needed in any committed relationship, romantic, business or otherwise. Try to avoid outbursts as emotions run high during this period.

Leo: Full Moon in the 2nd House
The second house relates to value, whether in tangible or intangible form. This Full Moon may trigger an ending regarding earned income or financial status. Power and control over finances will be highlighted, and you may feel more possessive over what is owned at this time. A yours vs. mine mentality may develop at this time, as sharing and personal value and wealth come into focus.

Cancer: Full Moon in the 3rd House
With the Moon in the house of rational thought, emotions will be on the mind. This is the time to communicate your feelings to those around you, whether through the written word or verbally, and try to find reason behind oftentimes illogical feelings. This period may mark the ending of a contract or agreement, or you may receive a letter or written communication at this time.

Gemini: Full Moon in the 4th House
This Full Moon brings Gemini’s attention back to the home after a period of outward focus aimed at furthering the career and public image. Domestic matters take precedence now, forcing Geminis to find a balance between professional and personal lives. You may find you’ve been overexerting yourself as of late and are forced to turn your energy inward. You may reach a peak in relationships with family or individuals from childhood.

Taurus: Full Moon in the 5th House
This influence ushers in a period where pleasure, fun and creativity take center stage for you. A Full Moon in the house of love and romance indicates you may end a love affair or let go of an old flame. Perhaps an ex will marry at this time, or a new relationship will trump what was once considered true love. You may be wrapping up a creative project or, if you’ve been trying to conceive, you are likely to reach a peak in your efforts: become pregnant, begin fertility treatments or give birth. Parents may also see their children gain recognition at this time or reach a goal.

Aries: Full Moon in the 6th House
If you’ve been on the hunt for new employment in recent weeks, this Full Moon could mark the end of your search. A job offer or promotion could present itself at this time, or you may decide to quit or resign as a work-related ending comes to fruition under this energy. Work and daily routines will come into focus, as you purge any habits and activities that no longer serve you. You may find closure regarding a lingering health issue, quit smoking or make a change to your diet and health regimen.

Pisces: Full Moon in the 7th House
One-on-one relationships are brought to the fore with a Full Moon in the seventh house, which highlights both business and romantic partnerships. This marks a turning point in a relationship for Pisceans – this could be a romantic break or decision to take things to the next level with your significant other, or the initiation of a new endeavour you’re taking on with your spouse – or simply a shift in focus from the individual self to the shared self. Attorneys, managers, agents and other representatives also fall under the realm of the seventh house, so an ending to these working relationships are also possibilities at this time. This is an ideal time to renew existing relationships as well.

Aquarius: Full Moon in the 8th House
A Full Moon in the eighth house brings a conclusion regarding financial matters. You could be receiving an insurance or loan payout, or ending a debt cycle. Whatever the circumstances, you will likely see a shift regarding outside resources, such as a change in your partner’s financial status. Sexual attraction may peak at this time, or reproductive issues may be brought to light. Eighth house configurations often force a death and rebirth of existing habits, behaviors or circumstances that pave the way for better patterns to emerge, so any endings brought on by the Full Moon are likely to be welcome developments in the long run.

Capricorn: Full Moon in the 9th House
The energy of a Full Moon in the ninth houses encourages Capricorns to balance mundane affairs with matters of higher learning, religion and philosophical endeavours. This energy forces you to open your mind to new experiences, leaving old patterns of belief that no longer serve you behind. This is a time to embrace your adventurous side, wrap up legal matters or projects related to publishing and broadcasting.

Sagittarius: Full Moon in the 10th House
A work project or bothersome professional situation may come to a close at this time as the Full Moon illuminates the house of career, fame and honors. If you’ve been working towards a goal or hoping to receive recognition in your career, this is the time where you’ll be recognized for your achievements. You may decide to change the direction of your career at this time, leave your position to become your own boss or decide to become a stay-at-home parent at this time. Whatever the result, this is a time to re-evaluate professional pursuits and blaze a new path in your career.

Scorpio: Full Moon in the 11th House
Friendships, associations and group activities will color this new phase for Scorpios, who will be ready to network and socialize during this period. You’ve probably re-evaluated the basis of some existing friendships and may decide to cut ties with those who no longer serve you well. Toxic relationships will be replaced with mutually beneficial ones as group activities and associations introduce you to like-minded people.

Libra: Full Moon in the 12th House
You’ll find yourself feeling more introspective and introverted than usual during this period, when the Moon tours the house of solitude, the subconscious and secrets. As the Sun illuminates the sixth house, you may find yourself feeling overwhelmed by hectic daily affairs and routines, resulting in escapism as you retreat from reality. Use this time to recharge, making your psychological and physical health a priority.
